Your Donation Matters

PictureDonors like you are the foundation of Higher Ground
Since 2018, conservation burial in Vermont  has driven a small group of volunteers toward their unrelenting dream.  But among the most ardent supporters are six families who lost loved ones before we could open our doors.  Now though, the opportunity to nourish life while honoring death is here for those in and around Vermont who long to serve the Earth and loved ones in this way.

An extended act of love is now becoming a dynamic, self-sustaining business. Behind our principles of generosity, sustainability and affordability is a nonprofit, whose backers now are all we need to succeed largely on our own. Of the $50,000 in start-up costs, half has come in through payments from initial “placeholders”.

And then there is you. The rest comes from your generous tax-deductible gifts! Our modest burial fees cover not only operating expenses, but affordability for all, and funds for long term conservation maintenance and support of those less able to pay the going rate.

On behalf of the families, the land and community of Earth we serve, thank you for your generous support!

Our 501(c)3 nonprofit status is pending, EIN 83-1966619. Donations are tax-deductible as the law allows.
Giving by check saves processing fees.

“A death that gives back to Earth rather than harming her further is a true act of reciprocity with the more-than-human world. The Green Mountain State thanks you, Higher Ground!”
