Is Higher Ground for You?

Is Higher Ground for You?

Higher Ground welcomes those who wish to explore and grow their connection to Nature, in life and beyond, today and for loved ones to come. Our goal is to be as open and inclusive a community as possible with respect to cultural and racial diversity, faith tradition, and range of geographic origin. Though local community is our natural focus, we invite members from beyond neighboring townships, including those from more densely populated areas for whom connection with Nature brings beauty and fulfillment to their lives. (We are pleased to have Massachusetts and Rhode Island members already with us.) Fulfillment among a broad range of community members enriches us all—from their engagement with the forest-scape today, to the conservation value of their natural burial with a living legacy for future generations.

How to Purchase a Plot

Twenty-five founding members are currently paid subscribers, with 50% deposits ($1,000) or full $2,000 subscriptions. Some members have made additional tax-deductible gifts to help cover startup costs and reduced fee arrangements for others in need of assistance. With 120 gravesites available, there is plenty of room for you, though word of mouth accounts for a steady stream of reservations coming in even before our official opening!

A contractual agreement between Higher Ground and the subscriber documents plot ownership and associated rights and responsibilities, including mutual understanding and honoring of the visitor guidelines and member practices that support the ecological health and practical maintenance of the conservation cemetery.

Contact us to schedule a guided tour for you to get a feel of the forest-scape.

“People are turning toward a deeper, more nourishing relationship with death and its rituals; and with the improved environment they are hoping to leave behind.”
